IVORY JOE AND THE MIDNIGHT HOWLERS |
IVORY JOE'S been groovin' that funky music all his life. By the time he was fourteen, in Lexington, Kentucky, Joe was wearin' a zoot suit, blowing the sax, romancing his 'harp', and 'burning up' the piano in juke joints on the wrong side of the tracks. It's in his blood. His grandfather, Daddy Red, was a well-known big band leader and lovingly left Joe the very sax he plays today.
On from Kentucky, throughout the United States, and overseas, Joe's been tinklin' those ivories ever since. You may have seen him alive and jivin' on Nashville Now, the Grand Ol' Opry, or Austin City Limits. He's toured with such notables as Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings, Leon Russell, Edgar Winter, and Sweethearts of the Rodeo. But, Ivory Joe's best show is himself. He's got that mojo thang', baby, and will keep a crowd, standing room only, jam-packed, rockin' and rollin'. He plays, not for, but to the crowd. To say Ivory Joe's a natural isn't enough, to say he's a showman is, and you'll love every minute of it. So, you got that special occasion? Whether solo or bringing his five or seven piece band, "The Midnight Howlers", Ivory Joe can set it up, keep it jumpin', and make it unforgettable. Sax, keyboards, harmonicas, horns, and sweet chick singers, on and on; you got your choice. |
